• Art as Inquiry

  • Connecting art and science, we translate living patterns into objects that invite relaxation and reflection.

  • Science as Structure

  • Learning from nature we link concepts across scales and disciplines, looking at nanoscale structures and exploring applications in design and technology.

Living Patterns

Each art project begins with a question, letting curiosity guide the process.

Biology becomes blueprint as we move between research and creation.

About the Artist

Kira is exploring living systems through illustration, CNC machining, 3D printing, lantern-making. Her work is informed by microscope research and and other technical tools.

Kira has a decade of experience as a Landscape Technologist, creating sketches, 3D models, and structural details for outdoor spaces. These technical skills form the foundation of her creative work as she explores the problem-solving strategies of organisms and ecosystems and investigates applications in product development, city planning, and systems design.

Connecting nature and technology, Kira’s art invites reflection on our evolving relationship with both.

Adaptive Ecosystems

Bringing people together to explore curious questions, we create learning tools and scientific illustrations.

Our process is collaborative and includes discussions with scientists, innovators, and business leaders. This network of experts helps us connect ideas across disciplines and scales.

Together, we study biology and imagine the possibilities in technology and innovation.

Approach

Through our art, educational tools, publications, and presenting, we help designers, technologists, and scientists improve and share their craft.

Our illustrations use vector linework that creates high-quality linework that can be scaled to any size and used for 3D modelling and CNC machining.

Project:

Diatom Lanterns

How can diatoms inspire lanterns and light-based art?

Diatom Lanterns is a series of sculptural lights inspired by microscopic algae, tiny organisms that grow shells of glass.

Project:

Imagining the Self

How does nature transform?

Imagining the Self is a book about change—how we adapt to situations and reshape ourselves in the process.

Sharing stories and illustrations, it offers tools for navigating transformation with intention.
