Dancing with Diatoms

Movement Workshop : Call for Dancers

Diatoms

We are seeking dance, theatre, circus and other movement professionals for a paid one-day workshop in Edmonton exploring light, connection, and microscopic life. This workshop will contribute to Diatom Lanterns an interdisciplinary art project led by Kira Hunt that explores the question: How can microscopic life inspire light-based art?

The movement portion will be led by contemporary dance artist Janita Frantsi. Through individual exercises and group work, we will translate themes into collaborative movement, develop illuminated props, and tell stories of diatoms through dance.

Please send us:

  1. A few sentences about your movement experience and what interests you about this project.

  2. A resume, CV, or bio.
